Chicago-based composer/educator/pianist, Jim Holman pulls from bebop and post-bop roots in his constant pursuit of freedom and clarity. Jim has recorded with Ira Sullivan, Richie Cole, and Roger Humphries, and Frank Catalano in his first two albums, “Explosion! And “Ira Sullivan Presents: the Jim Holman Trio, Blue Skies” (Delmark). His most recent album “Faith” features Greg Ward II and compositions by Holman.

Ari Brown is a powerhouse in the evolution of the AACM and Chicago’s contribution to jazz. His work with the likes of Anthony Braxton, and Pharoah Sanders makes him in the select few who play a major part of the foundational moments in the music’s history.
