Micah A. Collier, a young and promising bassist, teacher, and composer, has made a significant mark in Chicago’s jazz scene. His love for traditional jazz and funky bass lines has led him to create a powerful musical journey. Micah has led his band across the Chicago area, performing at Dorian’s, Andy’s Jazz Club, The Jazz Showcase, The Promontory, Bronzeville Winery, Millennium Park, and the Hyde Park Jazz Festival, as well as being a sideman to international artists such as Vincent Davis, Dee Alexander, Ernest Dawkins, Marquis Hill, Isaiah Collier, Christopher McBride, and Makaya McCraven.
